The market rate of exchange is at the present time 3/2, and the Government will recognize, no claim in respect of fluctuations in the value of the dollar.

For the purpose of paying Salary when on leave of absence in England the dollar will be taken at 47. and in the case of penown at 5/80

Each Lightheper to receive the sum of Twenty pounds (£20) by way of advance on account of Salary, the repayment of which will be within 12 months after arrival in the Colony in equal monthly instalments

Subject to the necessities of the service, and weather permitting the Lightheepers to be relieved
